Mercury is generally outwardly shown as who and what she is. She is a rather average-height girl with an athletic frame to her body. Her hair is a bright sun-dried orange color, that extends to shoulder length. Her hair often times contains accessories braided into her hair, along with any other typical hair stylings, hairbands, pins, clips, chopsticks. She does many things to her hair. Her eyes are green like polished emeralds, very easy to look into, difficult to not look into. She is Caucasian.
What is noticed about her is that she is almost always dressed like a knight. Despite being a Requip type magic user, she is almost never seen without her basic armor on. This consists of an under-suit with plate mail over it. She also has at least one lance and shield on her at all times. The exception here is whenever she is asleep or at the guild itself, where she wears normal clothing as to not threaten other members.

A very well made lance that takes the form of a large steel joust. The whole thing itself is taller than Mercury by a foot and a half.

A short, forearm-length buckler which matches her armor perfectly.
Aptitudes & Talents: Expert Blacksmith, Unreadable Poker Face, Queen of Go Fish. Unique Abilities: She has immense finesse skill and is capable of multi-wielding weapons in random groupings. - Effect: Mercury summons a set of armor to her body, and now wears full iron plating on her upper torso with a skirt, a tasset and leather pants and iron plated boots. This form is provides more protection than her usual armor, and also has the ability to cause an exact iron replica of whatever spear or lance weapon mercury wields at the time, and lets her wield them in perfect sync.

- Effect: Mercury Requips a spear, with a jitte-like blade extending from the base of the blade. This weapon's shaft twists elegantly with a snowflake design on the opposite side of the blade. Anywhere this spear impales or slices will be immediately overcome with an inch layer of ice, causing near instant frostbite.

- Effect: Mercury Requips a spear with an oddly shaped blade, which extends straight from the shaft then curves around in a hook-like fashion. On the opposite end of the blade is a small metal pommel. The spear is strangely flexible. Anyone pierced or slashed by this spear will be overcome by a topical poison which causes whoever it affects to think way too hard to the point of speaking in riddles which they will then attempt to think answers to, giving it their name. The effect would last for 3 posts.
-----Psychological----- - Temperament:
Mercury is a very quiet kind of person, not really into the whole conversing scene. Looking like a knight, people are commonly surprised by her wizard abilities, which she takes pride in. Of course, she is not exactly. She also has a heavy complex of closet perversion, so she isn't out with it, but she will occasionally snicker to herself over silly comments that she inwardly translates in two ways. She is also prone to nosebleeds when around attractive men, and some women. Furthermore, she has a very blunt attitude towards people she doesn't know very well, and usually treats strangers as not worth three words. Towards friends, she can say very meaningful things, and be open about personal issues. She is easy enough to be friends with.

Fears/Phobias: The Concept of Infinity (She likes to be able to count things) Dirty Secrets: She doesn't want to hide anything, if someone asks her about anything she's ever done, she'll share it, unless its a friend's secret. Prejudice: Despite her looks, she is highly prejudiced against legitimate knights. She hates being called a 'Knight' preferring the term 'Lancer'. Family: Disowned Friends: None yet. Rivals: None yet. Goals: She wants to become the greatest Lancer who ever lived, and make her family proud. History: Mercury was not her birth name. She was born into a small knight family of four, her parents her brother and herself. Mercury's birth name was Lily Hauck, and she was supposed to be the favored child. She did everything she ever needed to, and always tried to make her family proud of her. She mastered the art of the spear at a young age. However, her brother was always the one who took the praise from her, and got everything he wanted. She worked hard to earn her respect, as little as she earned. Then her family right away turned around and tried to make her be a knight. Lily didn't want to, so she was cast out at a young age and disowned, left with little else than a spear, and some armor things. She couldn't bare the name of her family as she was disowned, so she changed her identity to Mercury Croft, and took off from her home. She really began starting to be a Wizard, around age 10, when she met a kind blacksmith who was also a Wizard. The man taught her the power of Requip spells and how to forge her weaponry. She had no natural affinity to magic as she genetically was unprone to be anything but a knight. To surpass this, she studied the magic tirelessly and constantly to understand it and see it as a work of art. Mercury had gone against her heritage now, so she could never return. She soon found that she could learn little else from the blacksmith and left his guidance to go venture around the world. She found herself wandering around the magical continent, and trying to learn some things from local wizard shops. As a child, she was normally turned down, but she did occasionally get tips. Mercury continued, until one day, she stumbled upon what is known as a 'guild'. She walked in to what she learned to be the usual bar-fight that was the Fairy Tail Guild. Around that time she was drafted in as a member of the Guild, and now she has found some purpose, taking on challenges and doing jobs for pay. She never has been able to get the really high paying jobs because she is still pretty weak. |
